Volvo d13 engine swap and ecm question? 2011 into a 2008?

It can work. Will need some ecm magic though.
Not sure if you can use old ecm, but it’s possible to deactivate def on the one from the donor engine.

 

Will it work..... yes.
The motors are identical and an ecm switch is a good idea since you will not need DEF in the 2008.
You will need the injector codes from the 2011 and input that into the 2008 ECM. I am sure Nas or Quality can chime in with better information.

 

It will work but you need to replace all after treatment fuel valves different systems also Ned to swap injectors and ecm between the two everything else should be good

 

Just swap those when u pull the engine out and everything else is all the same.

 

No it Connot parts are different so you will have a lot of headaches with aftertreatmemt.

 

Swapping an 08 d13 into my 07 that had a d12d...
I got the motor ,frame harness,VECM,and LCM out of the 08 and have all installed.. I've got power to cab and cluster and crank from relay on firewall but no start...
Tryed to run diagnostic from instrument cluster but operations fail on ECM and vecm

 

Swapped my 07 Volvo d12d to an 08 d13 ...swapped motor ecm , dpf stack, VECM and LCM and frame harness all from the 08 d13 into my 07 d12d .. I've got power everywhere and crank from the relay on the firewall but no start .. cluster says operations failed between ECM and VECM help... The donor truck was an 08 daycab..d13.. most everything has been plug right in no problems.. why won't this truck start?

 

Check chassis harness different also was either automatic. Check fuses in fuse box or cab harness even though it’s plug and play wires do not match.
