I cant go more than 4 months without injector/cups hardstart symptoms....thinking about junking this engine and shoe horning a cummins down into the truck. Volvo should be embarassed by this piece of crap.

Do you keep.going back to the same dealer? You would be better of selling then swapping in an ISX.

Crappy thing is I just finished paying it off, swapped a 13 speed road ranger into it and installed a brand new TK tripac on it. Once the truck is started, it runs like a champ. Pulled 45k lbs of paper rolls up Monteagle the other day going 50mph. Volvo said my boost pressure is a bit high, 45psi, but turbo checked out alright and looked like new inside. Aftertreatment system regens as it is supposed to, soot levels stay low. 7.9mpg lifetime fuel economy on the truck. Idk. Guess I am screwed paying $4400 a year for a part that should not be failing.

Bought truck from a Swift lease operator who was trading up to a KW t680 with cummins isx.

Why not contact Volvo headoffice and ask them for a solution.
You might be surprised.
And you have nothing to lose with this approach. -

1 year or 100k mile. Even if it's replace with that time frame the warranty doesn't extend beyond that first purchase.
