Volvo only engages ODD GEARS..EVEN GEARS feels like NEUTRAL

I will be driving BOBTAIL or a EMPTY FLATBED to get something on my way back.
I drove yesterday to HOME TERMINAL in 11th....cruise around 53/54 mph

Will probably drive through Sunday night

 

Except for Nine it's prime.

As i said earlier the Air leak from 1st Tank ( out of 3) and the gear issue started simultaneously.

When driving ODD gears the air was building and leaking all along.

Now fixed the AIR LEAK and it stopped taking the EVEN gears too

 

I have the MANUAL OPTION but i drove it in AUTO MODE....somehow the truck has learned to skip the EVEN and keep itself in ODD gears

 

They have NARROWED it down to FORK HOUSING

 

Usually the splitter fails which is responsible for odd and even gears. Either control housing or input shaft has excessive play and not letting gears split. You would feel jumping in reverse if input shaft was damaged so I would look at control housing before anything maybe internal harness

Yes it was FORK CONTROL HOUSING
All good now
Also changed CLUTCH/ACTUATOR/REAR MAIN SEAL/ SELENOID/small AIR LINE/PILOT BEARING....as we had to take down transmission
