Been too busy to follow the thread for a couple of weeks and surprised to see how the electrical issues seemed to have usurped the blog.
We haven't had any electrical issues with our 780 but we sure had (HAD) the airleaks. The last one a week and a half ago in Amarillo. We always have them close to Amarillo, possibly some truth to Texas Nana's theory of gremlins.

Since it was 4 am and we didn't want to wait on Bruckners to open or pay them a liver or some other vital organ we went to TA.
Voila! 45 minutes later and only $175 later we ready to roll and I still have all of my organs to donate to science!

    Magnum1 Thanks this.

Glad they could get you fixed up. I always seem to have good luck with minor repairs at T/A shops, and usually in the middle of the night. The T/A shop off I75 in Lake Park, GA really impressed me a couple nights ago. They were able to change a fuel filter that had loaded up quicker than taco bell can get your food out - I'll be stopping by there again for other work. I left a note for the manager that said thanks for impressing me, and I'd like a quote for some Centramatic Balancers and new steer tires for the near future. I'll go a long way to get good service!

Ugh!!!!! The dang alarm for losing air is back and with a vengence! We had the thieves at Bruckners in Amarillo replace the rear leveling arm, the valve for the service actuator? a month ago. We had TA fix an air leak by replacing a busted hose two weeks ago---after I sang their praises I am no revoking my laud. Learned today they didn't replace all the screws under the wheel cover and now they are gone forever.

Does anyone have any experience with Bruckners in OKC? Actually does anyone have any experience with a decent mechanic for air leaks and such for the 780 anywhere in the South?

Yes, but since you're company "frowns" upon the use of independent mechanics, as you stated earlier in this thread, an answer more than a simple "yes", would be worthless.

No issues with my 780 either - I just think you can buy a monday or friday truck of any brand. Monday the mechanics are hungover and pissed they're back at work, and Friday all they want to do is go home!

Then you have to look at the other factors in truck sales. Companies (and o/o's) tend to get rid of problem trucks, and keep the good ones until they're in a hole in the ground. So if you look at 10 trucks, there's a good chance that 8 of them were a pain in someone's arse.

Thanks that was my next choice. Want be going there now. I need a mechanic that has a garage, has insurance, guarantees his work, and has the money to back up his promises..... Guess I'll find him in the next life. :biggrin_25526:

If you're getting the low air warning, that tells you that either a) you have a ridiculously large air leak, or b) your compressor isn't kicking on. It should be easy to tell which one it is at any rest stop, load or unload, or on the shoulder when it starts blaring at you.

Next question, does it come on when you're running at speed? Or just when you're idling? Or which/what/who?

Sounds to me like you either have a bad air regulator, or a HUGE leak somewhere - that happens to be intermittent. Or are we still talking about losing pressure in the drive bags? Let me know on that one.

And by the way, you may want to take a few days layover somewhere that has a few shops around, and talk to some folks before shoving anyone under the truck. Air leaks take no special experience level with any brand of truck, they take experience with air systems and patience. It also doesn't hurt any to listen to the customer and properly diagnose the issue. A bad diagnosis on their part will cost cash, time and frustration on your part. Ask yourself this question when you're talking to a shop, would I pay money for their opinion? Because you will - every single time. If they haven't taken the time to ask the right questions, you could wind up with a new shelf full of parts on your truck, and the problem you started out with, down the road after the bill has been paid.
