    Some forewords.
Was in heavy rain in MS got starter solenoid wire shorted to the ground some smoke. Love's mechanic replaced starter now have check engine light and speedometer not working. Cruse control not working as well.
Speed sensor is replaced already doesn't help. By the Volvo electrical diagram sensor connected directly to the VECU. Chased wire harness from transmission to the cab it's going inside the cab under sleeper then under carpet to the front. Where to look under dash for this wires?

Thank you nasriza I did it first. The wires from gearbox laid inside the cab by the driver side to the VECU. There is two sensors on the gearbox one is by the yoke and second on the top of gearbox. Do you know for what this sensor is for?Did'n find it on wire diagram. Today speedometer start working it was just water. Volvo not designed to work under rain.

It is designed to work in rain they do have some issues with speed sensor wires. The main issue i see on a daily basis is that the wires for the sensors need to be zip tied to the plug just need to make a u. The connector sometimes creates issues. Also make sure the contact on the pins are not messed up cuz the pins become sluts and they do not make good contact also there is a connection going by the box on the side of the engine from the cab big loom goes down from can and in chassis also goes on the big plug behind starter that plugs into the harness box most of the time the wires over there rub and get messed up and they drop the speed and last but not least is old qualcomm wires.

    Snailexpress Thanks this.

The sensor on top of the gearbox is most likely the reverse switch
