Hello All,
I've got a 2010 VNM64T with D13 with 115000km on it.
I use to average about 43-45 ltrs/100km. The truck had a problem, injector cups were replaced and injector #4 was changed as well. Since then the fuel economy has gone to ####, averaging about 68 ltrs/100km. The soot level fills up after about 200km or 10 engine hours and the regen process kicks in / has to be run. Every second day right now I need to run the regen. I've had the DPF removed and cleaned and still no change in fuel economy.
Before changing the injector cups and injector #4 regen use to run after about 500km and fuel economy was much better using only 45 ltrs/100km.
Any idea what the cause of this may be? The truck seems to be using a lot more fuel and a lot is left unburnt and filling up the soot level.
Thanks,
Gary

When tey dod youre injector cups and changed youre injector they also probably did a tube up on the truck adjusting all the valves injectors and such the problem i think is there i dont think they set up the valves the correct way maybe they tight up the untake valves a little to much also try to clean out ure 7 injector and is it also possible if the truck was leaking coolant in the combustion then it loaded up the filters a bit i would day have youre valve adjustment checked to help out eith the fuel a bit u need to set intake valves little loose and exhaust a little tight

Looks like it'll be going in to Volvo for them to check out / diagnose whats wrong and maybe a valve adjustment too
Being out of warranty sucks. -
I would check the the exhaust manifold, too. One injector out of six it's a big question sign on that engine. Do yourself a favor and put it on a dyno. I know it is not so cheap but anyway, it's a lot cheaper then that method I hate from the bottom of my heart : " try and error". In the end you will end up with a lot more damage on the engine, tons of money and time spent guessing what that may be.
