Volvo with VED 12 engine

I'm not a fan of dealerships but in this case I would have them diag the issue. They can plug in their computer while you have the symptoms and tell you what it is really quick. Then you have a coice to have them fix it or a local indy shop. Going to a small shop first will have them throwing parts ($$$) at it and guessing. That's what i'd do, anyway.

+ nationwide warranty on the repair and parts. FYI.

Mine was a little newer but had the Volvo engine and was doing the same thing they had to replace the injector cups and 2 of the injectors. It kept taking longer and longer to start and got progressively worse until the fix. Any power loss with the hard starting once it's running?

 

crank position sensor or camshaft position sensor.. then I would go with all the fuel "stuff" you mentioned

 

any crank ore cam sensor problem and U have stored fault codes. I sugest fuel check valve

 

Volvo d12 are the most efficient pre-dpf engine Volvo built. My uncle gets 7+MPG on Volvo.

 

if you crank and crank on cold or first start but then it will start ok after that. It more then likely injectors they are leaking down over night so you must crank to get pressure build back up. VIP volvo is the worst shop around and would not have them work on it. Just do not know a good volvo engine man around Detroit. M&K volvo over in GR is a good shop.

 

I would rather fix that engine by myself than bringing it to the shop.
