volvo with zf meritor automatic transmission

    I have a 2005 volvo with cummins engine and zf meritor transmission.the transmission broke down and the computer said "clutch cylinder postion out of caliberation".
    the mechanic changed the clutch,the TCU and the clutch actuator.
    the computer message remains the same and the transmission is not working.should i put a reman transmission?

    When some mechanics thought a fresh reman ZF meritor freedomline would fix the seemingly electronic codes and problems we were having we put in a fresh ZF, voltage doubler, wire harness... still have the same problems. Parked the truck and never used it again. If I was gonna spend big $ on that truck I would swap in a manual. Or cut your losses and throw the truck away. I doubt that a fresh reman is what you need, do you have a shop that really knows ZF stuff?

    Check Air supply to transmission it will never shift if air psi is not over 100 psi to trans

    make Sure they check air supply to clutch actuator and to transmission there is a check valve that comes in the transmission air tank and that happens to break down sometime and does not allow proper psi. it has nothing to do with the actual gearing of the trans if they changed the tcu already. Do not change the trans. whatever you do. make sure they go down the proper diagnostic tree with air psi and electrical supply to trans make sure datalink is proper and the electrical as well. let me know if you need anything eles

    I really don't know #### but uh code is reading a sensor and it says it's out of calibration so what could cause it to get that code? Is the sensor bad? Has it been calibrated? Can it be calibrated? They are questions I would ask but I am no mechanic

    Hello guys !!
    Does anyone knows a shop that really know what they are doing on this transmissions ???
    I have this zf for about 3 years now and never had any problems until couple of months ago .
    Everything started after replacing the check valve ( I bought it from volvo and it doesnt look the same as the old one ) . After that I started getting all kind of codes most of them will look " SAE J1939 Data Link " clutch cylinder postion out of calibration". " Spliter position out of calibration " " Main shift box , Mechanical fault " . After one of them gets Active status the tranny wont shift anymore , it gets stuck in the gear , I have to pull over turn the engine off , wait for couple of seconds and then I am good to go . I recently noticed that when is wet the codes comes out very often . ( the realese " throwout" bearing failed so I replaced the hole clutch also the Voltage Doubler ) . I have been working on this my self , I can t find any shop that works in this ZF thing ( except for dealer ) . Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you !!!

    HELLO!

    Zf repair ,reman, help.

    Mississauga,Ont. with shops all across Canada.
    A reman complete factory zf trans complete with clutch and everything voltage doubler etc was last August 2016 $8000 Cdn plus HST.
    The offer phone support. They have a website. I've bought parts from them. My Volvo is 2005 isx with 2,017,000 same clutch, they checked the clutch and it was a 1/4 worn.
    They open 8am eastern but you could try Edmonton and see if there is an answer.. They know handles zf in the states.
