Volvo's turbo compounding D13 engine

    If the TC is the next great thing, why Detroit abandoned it on the DD15? (They had it from 2007 to 2014). As for the pulling power I just care to a point, what needs the job done. What I care about fuel economy, reliability and longevity.

    Volvo seems to have figured out with their engineering how to get reliability. I think long term maintenance with the Detroit was why they dropped it.
    I would suspect you'll see it coming back though ...

    Detroit these last few years went to a much simpler platform than before seems like they are still acheving fuel economy so it will be interesting to see what the future holds for them.
