Yeah i figured as much, but they did come down on the price tho. I think it was like $900 or $1000 at first down to $600 i think it is now, if we wait a few more years it might drop to $199.00 at least.

they've been around $600 for the last several years, depending on where you look. Some mark it up more than others. this is for the V10

Called "King Controls" today, (who makes the Tailgater and VuCube) and was told the Tailgater will not stand up to the vibration long. The VuCube is designed for it. I guess I beleieve them as they wouldn't sell either direct. So I went ahead and ordered the VuCube 10. Lets hope my luck with this is good. LOL

I thought they sell the vucube in truckstops(excuse me travelcenters). Maybe it is cheaper to order it from the source, is it cheaper than $600 to order it?

I have installed one recently on a mounting bracket.

HOWEVER, VuQube will not honor the warranty at this time if it is permanently mounted. So that's the chance you would take.

CWC they won't sell direct. $600 seems to be the average number. I just ordered the V10 from my International truck dealer and started installing it. I currently have Dish Network at the house and will try it in the truck first. Sounds like its more of a pain then Direct TV, but I already have it. We shall see.

Dish uses 2 satellites, so some of your channels will be on the 110 and some will be on the 119. So you have to tune in 2 satellites when you stop verses 1 for Direct TV. However, if you want HD with a VuQube then only Dish Network will provide that.

It isn't that hard once you understand the concept of where the dish is pointing in relation to how your truck is parked and where south is. Having a smartphone app (SuperCompass is my favorite) or an analog compass makes it even easier to know which direction to point it when you park.

Once you get the technique down, you should be able to be on both Dish satellites in less than 5 minutes when you park.

What bracket did you use? Drilling into the truck?

Always brings to mind in CA. I saw a truck driving around in the truck stop parking lot with his Direct TV dish up above the roof and was looking for a signal. He drove around for about 15 minutes.

DieselBoss.... Yes I drilled into the truck. Not sure of the part #. I would be interested in getting some advice from you, once I get this up and running. I didn't have time to work on it today.
