Half the time I can't find a satellite and when I can it loses it as fast as it found it. It will show the channel and whats on with no pic. Very aggrevating!

which one did you get? Who do you have for sat service?
American Trucker -
I got the V10 and Dish Network. I was told they no longer sell the V20 and V30. He gave me some explanation about a partnership with dish or something. Didn't really understand and looking around, it sounds like they had problems with the other 2.
American-Trucker Thanks this. -
As far as your V10, I am not fully understanding your issue. You are saying that you can got signal on the 110 and the 119 satellites (like, better than 60% strength right?) and then it goes away on its own without you moving the truck? -
I just saw VuQube advertised in the Pilot in Cordele, GA for $499

Yet another update! lol... Stopped in Breazewood, PA and parked in a wide open lot "I'm sure becausee of the holidays" and I could only find the 61.5 satelitte. Looked around the lot and 3 other trucks "one which had an actual dish mounted to mirror" were facing the same direction and watching tv. Really pissed me off!!! lol... When I got home a friend came over with a Direct Tv box which was working in minutes. My friend did manage to somehow find a satelitte with the Dish Network box also. Not sure what to think hear.
Was thinking it was location, but on the other trucks that night were closer to the building and one had it mounted way lowere than mine. I even took the thing off the mount and put it on top of the roof. Also thinking weather for some reason, but other trucks worked too.
Not sure how it could be me, as I was on the phone with tech services at King for several hours and it still wouldn't work. This thing is frustrating!!! -
Make sure all connections are tight. when I was at Dish that was the number one signal problem.
-
I even ran another line when I put it on the roof. Connections are good on my end and I assume if the dish has power they are to inside. Thanks for the reply

So has anybody used the Tailgater for any length of time? I read here where it might not stand up to the rigors of truck life. I don't want to mount it permanently. I saw another driver use a flat piece of plywood u-bolted to his mirror arms(Prostar) and it got me to thinking. Use that plywood platform, drill four holes where the rubber feet are on the bottom of the unit. Replace those "feet" with some studs and just place the sat unit through the drilled holes. I can take it in when not in use . For $350 and it is fully automatic at finding the sats it seems like the ticket to me.
scottied67 Thanks this.
