I finished stripping the obstacles off the frame and noticed that the right side rail was bent about 1.5 inches in the weak axis so I straightened it
now it’s less than 1/16
I know it looks twisted to but that’s because of how it’s sitting in the saddle of the jack stand.

and I got my rear diff all rebuilt/ put back together.
The power divider is dissembled and some are clean…still have some for tomorrow and need a couple bearings before I can reassemble -
Well if I were closer I’d definitely lend a couple hands…..JoeyJunk, Vampire, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this. -
46k axles are really common with walking beam suspension and can be had cheap but since we’re using airliner on this truck I had to get rid of the extra brackets.
All of the rough ride components are gone except the transverse torque arm mount which is pretty close to the freightliner setup except about twice as stout so I am going to use it instead got the housing all cleaned out and dropped the rebuild diff in for storage so I can do the front one…I only have one stand setup to hold them.
There’s been a lot of frame drilling but it’s kinda boring and hard to show in a picture.
Hopefully things start to go back together this week at least for a dry run.
and for those of you who are familiar with cattle panels this is a whole panel after cutting it off the drive shaft of my 950….totally unrelated but I had to stop working on the truck to go fix this problem for my guys -
Anyone know if this is doable with 120 gallon 5 foot by 24” tanks…I know I can make it happen just asking if it would be a factory setup
JoeyJunk Thanks this. -
I would be inclined to think the only danger you will have is perhaps being a little steer-heavy (probably nearing 12,500) BUT, if youre going for a dump, you may just be doing heavier duty springs/axles/tires in the steer anyway. I know a guy i used to run for had an old w9 he removed the sleeper amd stretched, but he could never get weight on his steers, so perhaps swapping boxes and tanks would have done the trick for him. -

Gotcha, well, the t800s sometimes had the driver tank forward with steps, and the t600s usually had the passenger tank forward (under fairings)
But i dont actually remember ever seeing BOTH tanks forward on any kw. Doesnt mean it never happened, but at least both things were possible straight from kw.
From my experience replacing step boxes and getting shorter tanks and mounting them symetrically, it was a simple matter of just drilling holes where *I* wanted them, then making the fuel lines the right size. So i dont think you will have any issues, especially if you have a bigger budget than I (pretty sure your budget is astronomically higher than what mine was) and your working conditions and tools sure look more than up to the task comparatively
