I'll have a full ecm readout soon, had to find a shop that didn't want to charge me 500$ for the privilege of knowing what my current settings were.

Even if 20% isn't viable, 10% is still close to 4-6 k a year in fuel. Rear ends costing more than that might make me wait a year yet, but that's a pretty compelling argument for changing now

    Well, thanks for the input.

For now it looks like I'll just be doing new stand up 24.5s and just keep my eyes peeled for some 3.36s or 3.55s

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

Look closer at those numbers. The 10% is the extreme spread over the entire rpm range. Unless you're currently running at the peak for your engine, and regear to exactly the sweet spot, you won't see anywhere near 10%. And the curves for your engine will be slightly different, this was just the one I could find.
    Here's the graph.

That's the thing, it's currently running (mostly) closer to the extreme right of the graph, lower torque compensated by the higher hp and much higher fuel consumption.

Even if all I did was bring it to the halfway mark, that's no small savings in fuel, but better yet, it stops running at 1800 rpm and the torque keeps it from being too weak to keep up

Just realized I cut the rpm off on the graph. Trace starts @1100, lines are the even hundreds.

Don't know anything about Cat, but I got 3 n14's in my little fleet, all 500hp.
    1. ten speed 3.55 1600 rpm at 70 mph
    2. thirteen speed 3.42 1525 rpm at 70mph
    3. Eighteen speed 3.73 (don't remember rpm at 70).
    All have the same mpg
