I saw a thread on here a couple years ago about this. In that thread someone posted that the door jamb sticker of all W900L call it a W900B. Thus it would seem that W900L is not actually an official Kenworth model.

Even in the leaflet here they denote it as a W900B in both standard 120" BBC or in the "new extended 130" BBC version." kenworth-truck-ad-james-bond-007-licence-to-kill-02.jpg

If you look at 4 States, hood offerings for the W9, there’s an L model aero and a L model non aero(flat glass). I think the aero hood is around 66” in length and the flat glass is 70” in length. May want to double check me on that info.
IMO, it seems all flat glass “L” models, were “B” model cabs, which in turn kinda makes them a long hood B.

Ohhhh I see what you're saying now.

Actually, I cant remember why Kenworth does that. I have a W900L, but on the door sticker it says B on it. Someone heres I bet knows why they do it, and hopefully they will chime in

I know @pushbroom works at a pete dealer but he might know KW’s as well. I think it might say “B” on it as its more referring to the cab style. I do know that the T600, T660, T800 and W900 cabs where pretty much all the same on the outside. Just like a lot of pete’s share the same cabs.

Some. Mine is a 1994 and the door jamb, until I got it painted, said W900L not w900b

According to Jones Hoods, their hood will fit all years.

Yes, there is a slope from the cowl to the grill, about an inch drop it looks like, and the grill is narrower than a b. The line of the hood follows the line of the cab. This, in my opinion , is why the flat window W900L is the best looking truck. 20180709_083023.jpg

Yes sir, they definitely do look better than their later counterparts. Why KW has went to the “aero” style and Pete, has somewhat retained their flat and squared look has me scratching my head. I believe the 389’s have a 6” wider and taller hood than the 379’s did.
