You live in Helena, MT and never saw a Waggoners flatbed?
They started in 1951 with one truck and by 1968 the fleet had grown to over 35 flatbed trucks.
It wasn't till 1987 that they established the Automobile Transportation Division, which is now their biggest division.
Their flatbeds mainly run from Houston, TX to Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta via Casper, WY and down to Los Angeles and back to Houston.

I drove flats for them about 12 years ago. I ran team from Houston Tx. To Canada and back. It sounded great on paper...tons of miles, and a decent CPM at the time.

The reality was it was a really bad deal. Most loads were LTL so we had to constantly stop in one of their yards and off load half our truck, go pickup and reload something else, shuffle the load around again to make it fit, retarp, then drive to the next terminal and repeat. If we rolled into the terminal after hours, we had to sit and wait for them to open to get our load rearanged.

In short, it was constant, long delays and very little driving. A WHOLE lot of tarping and untarping and other delays without any pay. It took an entire week to run from Houston to Edmonton and back...as a team! The Canadian border crossing can be hell at times and is always an ordeal.

Unless they've drastically changed the way they do things, it's a lousy deal.
