I went through orientation for a certain company, and was hired. Then was sent home to Waite for a trainer (mentor). I have been waiting for 3 weeks for a trainer.
I don't have an unlimited amount of money to pay my bills, so I need to get in a truck and get to driving.

In your opinion, should I continue to Waite, or should I just go to another company?
If I did go to another company would it put a bad mark on my DAC for leaving a company so soon?

Instead of waiting why aren't you on the phone asking? Every time I heard people waiting more than a couple days there is more to the story!! Three weeks sounds like they forgot about you.

If the company is using DAC then they probably would ding you.

I'd keep calling Swift and let them know you're all set to go. Be nice and maybe a joke or two might get them going in your favor.

Are you van? smoker or non? 2-3 weeks is about when they should be calling you. I was in orientation with a guy recently and it took just over 2 weeks. Flatbed...a little longer wait. Non smoker, longer yet.

I would be a little bolder, be on their doorstep, in their face, so to speak, in a nice way, every few days. Eventually, they will get you a trainer to get rid of you bugging them. Good luck.....

Like AZS said, it all depends on your criteria that you put down for a trainer. If you were pretty strict, you may want to call them and change a few things so you can get a trainer faster. Like instead of non-smoker, tell them you can deal with it. When I was a trainer my only criteria was no women. When I called the new driver i stated up front I was a smoker and if it was a problem they needed to get a different one. After that was out of the way then we got down to business.

Could also be with the holidays many trainers won't take on a new student. I just dropped my last guy off for the year a week before Thanksgiving. I won't pick up another until January 3rd.

I left plenty of trainer options when I made my list. Smoker is ok, Male female, don't care. I do want flatbed.

Just called again today. Found out my Dm was on vacation for the last week and a half. That would explain some of the time.

    Thanks for the info!

So you can pick certain criteria for a trainer? That's good because I'm a modest gal and wouldn't want to share a cabin with a guy.
