Well I've been trying to find a 2023 579 or T680, in a nonwhite color with a Cummins, that someone backed out on and they are selling as soon as they hit the dealer lot. If I want a Paccar engine there's plenty to choose from though (no thanks). People are realizing that same 2023 unit is going to cost 10% higher this year so they are moving now.

I did locate 2 T680s with a 500 Cummins and APU for $219K, which I thought was reasonably priced. Unfortunately some guy came in and bought both. The salesman told me he financed both and I was thinking to myself with the higher interest rates that guy has to be paying at least $25K a year to finance those.

There’s a nice O/O spec’d T680 in Amarillo my brother was eyeballing, but it has the 510/1850 Paccar in it. But it’s listed at $198.

I've see that one. It's nicely speced but ya that Paccar engine. Although my regular salesman was telling in regards to resale value, a Paccar 510 and Cummins 500 would get about the same these days (talking 2021 and later).

I realize it’s all personal preference, but I’m at 116k miles on my new one and ran my old one to 600k. I didn’t have any mechanical issues with my old one, a couple sensors and the def level gauge but those aren’t unique to the Paccar.

My friend just had his first Paccar failure at 398k miles, he runs a mix of Paccar and Cummins. Just from what he’s seeing parts don’t seem to be an issue like the X15. They’re sending a new long block and that truck will be back on the road in a couple weeks.

I’m not going to try and talk you into one, all I can offer is that I’ve been happy with both of mine. I will say I’m not sure I’d try the 455hp one, but the 510’s have been good to me.

Do you have bank accounts down here? Seems like if you do then they would be willing to work with you because they see your cash flow. But I’ve also never tried to open an account in a foreign country so I’m mostly curious how it works.

I appreciate it. I know they've came a long way since they first came out. I mean if they didn't these mega fleets wouldn't be running them.

I'd be trading in a 389 for this one so it's a whole new world. I'm still trying to get over that mental block of going from standing out to blending in. But at the end of the day it's all about getting from point A to point B in the most efficient manner.

That T680 is beautiful. Not sure about the body-colored bumper, though. That should’ve been fairing-colored.

Given all the X15 hard part issues, I’d have to go with the MX13’s sensor issues. However, I currently drive a T680/455hp and have driven a 579/455hp. Both are/were absolutely gutless, as both are/were running on the “eco tune”. Very disappointing. I’d have trust the 510hp version is better.
