The only other approval we got was 15.99% from Kenworth financing from a local branch here in ND - I was ready to walk away from the deposit at that rate.D.Tibbitt, Rideandrepair, RedForeman and 3 others Thank this. -
I'll post the unpopular take. This came up with a pal I speak with now and then when he caught a low wire with his load and pulled some things down. He didn't like hearing it LOL.
Regardless of the regulations on how high hanging things are supposed to be, the driver is the captain of the ship. If he decides to move and hits anything that didn't just fall out of the sky, it's preventable.
That said, I am in the camp that agrees with @Midwest Trucker - keep him on. I'll bet a $1 he won't do that again, and will appreciate the good will. Probably even take some criticism about losing focus at the end of the day more to heart.larry2903, D.Tibbitt, Rideandrepair and 11 others Thank this. -

Will MHC make a sale this year with their inflated new truck prices? Heck, even their T680's are overpriced.

Perhaps someone should send them a memo of the freight rates crashing? It's just not them but they are the most outrageous. I just did my weekly browse through Truckpaper and the dealer lots are growing.D.Tibbitt, Rideandrepair, ducnut and 2 others Thank this. -
When I left the shop last Friday there were over a dozen new ultra-lofts on the front line. Spent two days with wife and went to Denton and back. In a week they are all gone but 1, and still no stock trucks. Plant is cranking out 180 units a day and still having supply chain issues keeping up. I don’t see weeds growing under any new trucks for a while.

You can get a similar speced 389 for $240K out the door. Plus you are seeing them hit the dealers lots as buyers are backing out of their order. 6 months ago any unsold truck that hit the lot would be sold within 24 hours. And these people backing out on orders are your O/O and small fleets.
You can't have used truck prices tank while new truck prices stay at record highs. Speaking from personal experience, you can't give me a crap trade in value and me not see your new truck as overpriced. And guess what...those 2 trucks I was looking at a month ago are still available.Feedman, D.Tibbitt, Opendeckin and 2 others Thank this. -
After this week and the return of $1/mile freight. I can guarantee there will be alot more new units sitting at dealers as the contract works dries out too when open market gets this bad .
