Have always let drivers pick their own colors. If not the driver picking it, I look for a color that I haven't had for a while.
Driver picks the coloring of the lettering. When I do it, I want it bright.

Definitely an interesting concept. All of my stuff is identical across the board but not your standard white spec fleet. When one of your special spec their own stuff drivers moves on, do you expect the next person to just roll with it until they earn the privilege of picking their own colors and decals?

They drive what there is until they get a new one. Very low turnover on company drivers. Newest one is 3 years, couple are 20+ years.
In the 80's-90's I had everything the same color, paid the extra to have non stock colors. Had to go look at the truck# to know who's it was.
I got tired of it, seemed like you were working on the same truck forever.

Ha Ha that is a good reason for different colors. Gives an owner a little piece of mind when they don't see the same truck in the shop every time. Best reason I can think of for mental awareness.

For a time i did paint the trailer rails the same as the trucks. Now it's so much D/H they would always be messed up matching. LOL

    Man, I’m the opposite…..
Everything needs to match so customers always get the same experience and people notice our trucks and our “branding” in town.

I think that’s why we’ve grown as we have, they see our stuff in their face all the time.

Just the opposite. Same customers for years and they know which driver it is by the truck color.

All the trucks at the flatbed company I drove for were the same. Same lights, same everything. They were easily recognizable.

On the flip side, my friend with the tanker company had all different colors and stripes but his company is just as recognizable just from the overall old school look of the trucks.

So if you have O/O's leased on they should have to paint their trucks your company color? If they don't, nobody recognizes the company?

Years ago a lot of companies did require that, can't think of any that do anymore.

Seems you would have to have a one of a kind color to stand out and be recognized.

Who was the company with the brown trucks and orange wheels?

Not knocking those that have all the same color, just bored. LOL
