Does anybody know if there is a mandatory wait period and if so how long that period is? I was less than a week out from orientation with Schneider bulk when it happened. I told my recruiter as soon as I could. It wasn't massive but they placed 4 stents, and the dr said we caught it fast so damage was minimal. Thanks!
Waiting to go orientation, then had a heart attack

I would think you would need your doctor's release and your new company will probably want you to pass there medical qualifications by seeing there company doctor. Sorry to hear about that hope everything goes ok for you
Joker556 Thanks this. -
The recruiter should have given you the number for occupational health. You'll definitely have to talk to them first. Then they advise Schneider. I can't remember the name of the company Schneider uses but I had to go back and forth with them for 3 weeks after i got sick so I could get back to work. I know youre not an employee yet but the same company does the pre employment drug tests. So I'd imagine you'd have to go through them before you can move forward.
Glad to hear you're back on you feet.Joker556 Thanks this. -

Thanks for the replies! I'm doing well now. I'm going back to my cardiologist in about a month for a stress test and I'll have to wear a halter monitor for a week. If that's good he'll clear me. It wasn't elective like a PCI, the stents were because I was having an actual attack. I didn't see any direct info about stents as a result of myocardial infarction just a PCI on the link. I'll definitely get in touch with Schneiders medical to make sure I have everything I'll need, didn't even think of calling them to avoid any delays.

How are you doing? Stents... do they have medicine in them? What material were they made out of? Life expectancy of the stents? I hate to present with so many questions but I have a philosophy to learn as much about something as possible.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear about your troubles after your procedure. And thanks you for the advice! I just turned 40, so it took me by surprise. I went to the ER on a Saturday and the dr said I had plurisey, I wasn't having a heart attack and to go home and relax that it should clear up in about a week. By Wednesday I was still in horrible pain and it spread to shoulder and my throat. Went my dr and he did an ekg and sent me back to the ER. Within 30 minutes is having stents placed.
scottlav46 and justa_driver Thank this.
