For those who do not know my story:
Finally passed the CDL road test after 3 attempts (parallel parking wasn't so good).

Failed Orientation road test at both Roehl and Covenant. Covenant told me that is I can do a 40 hour refresher, I can come back. If within 30 days, I can skip orientation.

I was trained on an automatic with 6 one hour shifting classes.

I have been turned down by: Werner, Stevens, USXpress, Swift, TransAm, and CRST. ARG (fuel tankers) did offer me a 'pre-hire,' but my shifting is too rough for fuel right now.

And now, I wait. The director of the school said I needed to come in so that we could 'talk.' I called Friday at 10am, no return phone call. I called today at 9:30am (email sent to him by secretary as he is in a conference meeting) still no response. I would bug him more, but with the holidays coming, I doubt much will happen this week anyway.

Fortunately, there's no money on the table. The load company the school uses will not give the school anything until I pass my road test AND work 30 days for a carrier that re-imburses tuition. So technically I haven't paid anything. I have been out of work for 1 year and 2 days, so I need to get something moving soon.

At this point I am not sure what to do. I assume I won't be able to do anything, but 'side-work' until next year. Anyway, thanks for reading.:biggrin_2552:

I wish you the best of luck and do whatever it takes to reach your goal. Michael Jordan couldnt always score at will it took practice and time.

You went to a school that trained with automatic transmissions?? If that is the case I wonder why USExpress turned you down. They have mostly all automatics.

USXpress said no because of a car accident. The lady's battery burst causing a fire.

123456 the reason I'm not darkening his door is that no trucking company is going to give me an answer this week anyway, so I have time.
