Only checking since it was a conflict with your previous posting stance.

Actually most of them were normal people before they worked at walmart. It kind of kills you on the inside to work there.

Your GPS is not chinese. It's probably made in japan or mexico. Hell, look at my signature, thats a japanese motorcycle! I could have bought a *BRAND NEW* chinese motorcycle for just a little more than i paid for this 15 year old japanese bike, from a shop that Werner owns.. But i didnt...

Free trade is the most anti-american thing ever. It would be one thing if it was free trade with canada, and other first world countries, which is what NAFTA was made to sound like it was. But we had free trade with canada for ages. Infact, it costs more to employ canadians because of minimum wages.

An end needs to be put to this. Period.

You can park the truck in lots of places besides walmart to shop. You have to be creative. However, it's going to be the same made in china crap as walmart, for a higher price. Whats the point?

I've parked my truck at Albertson's, Fred Meyer, Meijer's (totally different chains), and often walmarts have all kinds of stores near them. Hell theres a chinese buffet with no truck parking or nothing that i park at all the time. It's at a big strip mall that has an abandoned kmart. Guess how many people park in front of kmart? LOL. There's even a local used video game and trading card shop in that strip mall...with great prices (if you're BUYING).

I remember parking at walmart in Cedar Rapids, IA (pretty much only CRST people do it, its in the boonies!), and walking across the street to dollar tree...hahaha...

Where? that's a no brainer my friend. You know that small town with all of those mom & pops stores on that main strip? Or maybe Dollar General? Better yet, have you ever checked out that Magic Mart (Mainly on the east cost) ? They are Walmarts bigest competitor & growing like wild fire. Magic Mart & those small mom & pops stores 80% of the time, have far better quality of merchandise, not to mention there is absolutely no better feeling than to be able to walk into an establishment & they (if you've become a regular) greet you by your first name.

I have a few favorite places around the house that I'll shop at instead of WM and have been doing so for a few years. Many times I'll get various discounts not offered to the general public. Why? They know me by my first name, & they know that with all of the choices out there that I have to shop, I chose them.

WHat have I done by doing this? Not only have I made new friends, but I'm helping to keep local businesses here in my community, not to mention I'm doing my part to keep my money here in the USA.

When Americans wake up & realize that while yeah, it may cost a little more to keep our money & businesses here in our communities, we are doing our part in supporting the American way of life. Besides, for as long as I can remember, being an American never came cheap. What do I mean? ....Think about it...What did it take for All of us to become Americans? The cost of freedom comes with a heavy price tag....Every product that was ever made in the USA, weather now or way back when, was not only made with American pride, but quality & safety we've all grown to love & depend upon, and having those perks, we Americans came to understand & didn't mind that those too came with a much heftier price to pay.

Yeah, I'll be giving up a few extra dollars here & there. Yeah, I may not have as much stuff as most, but, I'll have a much higher quality, far more dependability, not to mention a far better & saver qualtiy of items, than the rest of those folks who wish to give into those cheaper products.

Remember that old saying our grandparents use to tell us? You get what you pay for.

For a few months anyway ... till that chinese microwave, coffee maker, and gps end up in the trash cuz they stopped working ...

Or those snazzy cloths, and bedding fall apart cuz of cheap Chinese stitching.

Wonder if anyone remembers when stuff actually used to last years instead of months ... admittedly, it's not just walmart to blame.

When I drove OTR for Roehl I loved going to Wal MArt DC's. Where is this hassle you guys are whining about? Drive up and present the del conf number. Get assigned an entire section to drop in (Instead of getting told a single space that may or may no be filled already). Be told what sections the empties were in and then leave. Delivery windows were as much as two weeks to play with. Just really liked how well run those places were and liked that I only dealt with one person(Security) while there instead of being sent around to find other people in different offices like at some places.

Further I love you guys that say Wal Mart drove out EVERY business in town. Really? Every business?

They already have freight ships. I doubt trucks would be much of a problem for them.

Is the basic premise of this thread that capitalism is ok as long as you aren't a large company?

Can people please instruct the rest of us where you are buying all of your USA made stuff? Furniture is easy but I am talking computers, TV's, clothes. Where is it all?
