yes i voted for both, someone needs to help us out with parking, pilots want our business and get out,not near enough parking, i try to find a walmart superstore when on the road to stock up on water and groceries,it saves me double than the truck stops, the walmart snack bars are cheap to eat at also. the tk stops charge 2.00 for a gallon of drinking water, walmart super store less than half.my wife spent 8 yrs setting up and changing over walmarts in ga.,fl. and ma.,they really took good care of her,ran all the 34 registers as csm and even made it to the cash office counting all the money,if it saves money i'm for it,thats progress.

I deliver to Wal Marts, and they usually are like truck stops. Many of the new ones are building lots so that it's difficult for trucks to get in. The communities probably don't want the big trucks.
I think with their low fuel prices, they would dominate the industry. I was able to fuel up in Hiram/Dallas, GA for $2.80 after I went in and bought the gift card to save 3 cents a gallon. Had to disconnect my trailer and manuver the truck to fill both sides, but well worth it. Lowest price I've seen anywhere else in GA/AL is $2.87. -
there's a Walmart on I-40 in West Memphis, Arkansas that I have seen as many as 12-15 trucks parked at. There's a Schneider, USA, CFI, and Werner yard within a 2 mile radius of the store. I have had to park overnight on Walmart lots when I couldn't find a truckstop or one with an empty parking space. They usually don't care plus I always manage to go in and spend money anyway.

I don't think Waly world should do anything formal about incorporating truckstops into their stores. I do however, appreciate the fact that most of them have truck parking and won't hassle you.

Wal-Mart has shown discrimination against drivers when the started putting up the truck blocks.....that would'nt have happened if 'ole man wal-Mart had'nt passed......
Just my opion, everybodys got 1....usually full of ************....:smt117lakelovrs Thanks this. -
I was a manager for Wal-Mart for a few years. Our policy (as explained by my supervisor) was that any driver could park his truck in our lot if he needed to get some rest and be safe on the road. This was a big issue as one of our assistant managers asked a driver to leave the lot and the driver called in to complain. This happened after Mr. Sam passed away, but I was informed that it was one of his beliefs. Wal-Mart sure was a different company when Mr. Sam was still alive.

I really dont know about this, I have a wishy washy feeling about the idea of Wal-Mart starting their own chain of truck stops. If you look around, the small mom & pop truck stops are dissapering really fast now and there is nothing to stop it as long as TA, Pilot, and Petro is around. Mabey if Wal-Mart starts their own truck stops, it will put a little pain on the crooks like TA, Pilot, Petro, and Loves. Dont you get tierd of paying these inflated prices? I mean COME ON! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I think some good hard compition from Wal-mart may keep the prices a little more reasonable for a while. (Key Words "for a while) But.... what is going to happen in the future if Wal-Mart gets to big? If Wal-Mart is to get even bigger than Pilot or Petro, who is to stop Wal-Mart from becomming a crook?

I would have to say leave Wal-Mart to the 4 wheelers. Here in Maryland the parking lots were designed as to where you can hardly back in or out without a collision let alone trying to park 18 wheelers on the lot

I also thought that what they sold was made in the USA. Can't find much if anything that has a tag that doesn't say made in Bangladesh or !China
