Not pissing on anyones cornflakes just telling the story like it is,no sugar coated BS. It a forum about what its like working at Walmart. I have always said its a great paying job,but it comes with a price and you may pay it one day.

And its not my little war here,if you read the CA lawsuit thread you will see that hunderds of other current and former drivers are calling Bentonville out. Its not even our action but we have joined in because its time to even it up. Your a new school guy thats all I can say,for us older guys its a job thats long past its best days.

Back in the day, WalMart was very Pro-USA manufacturing with lines such as Sam's Choice, but since he has passed on, his boys have changed everything. You should have expected similar penny pinching & micromanaging practices to come down the pipe for the private fleet & frankly you should be happy things have stayed as good as they have for as long as they have.

Sam's day is done, it does no good to continue dragging up "the good ol' days" considering the private fleet is the last part of the company to suffer from his brat children's China loving, bottom line eyeballing business practices.

It has gone way down hill. Its still a great job and I love it here. I just hate going in the office and dealing with 15 different opinions. The cell phone policy is understandable. The way they are handling the sleep apnea is absurd and I hope they have to answer for this someday. Things have to change I understand that. The leadership as fallen by the wayside and its a shame that no matter what happens they try to point the blame in the drivers direction. You didn't do this or you should have done that. Its very frustrating. I know things will never be the same and we have to adjust to that. By the way if anyone's keeping score I Have been with the blue and white for 19.5 years. Once again its still a great job.

Frustrated is how a lot of the older guys feel and its hard for the new guys and outsiders to understand. Our time is short, its the guys coming in now that are really going to feel the frustration when Bentonvilles remodel of the private fleet is complete.

You know for me and many others its not the polices so much as how quickly the lack of trust has gone downhill. You know there was a day when a private fleet drivers word was golden and the company had your back. Now the accusations of some disgrunteled store puke can ice a driver.

so your old and frustrated we get it. Understand its hard to teach an old dog new tricks. A bad day here is better then my best day at my old job which was a good job.

The private fleet is not going anywhere no time soon if ever as you should know cal wally dedicated cant do our job efficiently. They are great in support when needed but thats the extent of it.

We are still treated great here from top to bottom. I just got back from the Walmart regional truck driving championship that included a 104 drivers and 40 techs. All the upper management was there talking and mingling with the drivers for 4 days asking for thoughts and opinions. This event cost walmart over 300,000.00 dollars. And this was just for the eastern region something they sure dont have to do.No expense was spared 5 star hotel and the whole nine yards.

I dont see the lack of trust, a cell phone policy is not lac of trust its protecting their investment. New policies are part of growing and setting the leading standards in the industry.....

Never said it wasnt a great job,its just not what it was and I dont see Bentonville reversing course anytime soon. My question is should a guy leave a better job because he thinks Walmart offers something different. There are some guys that do have beeter jobs and to them my answer is always the same. Take your time, weigh all the pros and cons and look at both sides of the arguement before you give up something that might not be as bad as you think. Not everyone is financially motivated nor are they impressed with cookouts, driving championships and all the other little extras. Believe it or not there are alot of us that came here to finish our careers with the best of the best. Now as the best leave their spots are being filled by guys who would have never made the cut back in the day. I know its a hard pill to swallow but its the truth, the older guys get it and the new school just will never understand.

See here, you are living for the past. You are so desperate to have things the way they were. I also want to thank you for stating such dribble that associates like myself would "never have made it back in the day". Thanks for have so little faith in us " new guys" coming in and ruining it for you and others. Do us a favor and retire already. Your belly aching and trying to justify things of how this company should be according to you grows tiring.

If you cant handle the truth or your tired of the truth maybe you should not read my posts. Out of respect to you I dont post on your cheerleader thread, that may now change. My number one desire is to let as many drivers as possible know that the new private fleet is much different than the old one they have heard about.

The new hiring practices are dumbing down the private fleet, you dont like hearing it but its true. Come on Matt, radio adds and mass media advertising are signs of a company desperate to fill seats. A desperate company lowers it standards in order to keep the wheels turning. Walmart is resorting to mega fleet tactics,so now its just a better paying mega fleet job. Are you following along with my logic?Thats not just my opinion its the truth and its shared by more of your fellow drivers than you might know. Drivers just need to really think before they leave another job,as long as they look at both sides Im happy. Why are you so bothered by that?

This is a forum to discuss working at Walmart,my observations and opinions are based in truth. You know its funny I dont see to many denying what Im saying. In fact I have had some very positive support from other veteran drivers. From the new school we hear change happens and you cant live in the past, move forward or get out of the way. Thats what Bentonville was counting on when they decided to start watering down the private fleet, again sorry if the truth hurts.

We get it,you and the others came from less than desireable companies and now your all "new school walmart drivers". Your making good money, eating free food, getting you butt kissed and you think you got it going on. Got news for you guys, alot of you will never be the drivers that were hired even just five years ago. I know you hate hearing it but again its the truth, notice I didnt say all the new drivers so save the lectures.

Im not desperate for change, Im well aware its going to continue the way it is and most likely get worse. I would like to have the job it once was, thats why I came here. A decision I now regret. I was one of many guys that came here for reasons other than the money, benefits, truck rodeos, cook outs and all the other stuff you cheer about. Alot of that stuff is for guys that need to be distracted like little children. It takes your focus off what going on right under your noses.

And Matt I never said you would not have made the cut. I try to generalize whenever possible, but if the shoe fits...Im good.
