Thank you for taking the time to reply, however, I've been around long enough to know what it means - it is a fancy term to dazzle people who don't know much about radios.
I also know Jay Bird was and I have a dozen or so Bird 43 (most common) with a lot of slugs. Some slugs are not the most accurate or the best to use for anything other than a good indicator of RF power. It is a good meter but not always the one to use in the hands of someone who doesn't know how to use it.
This apparently was their head tech there, it was said in a condescending manner.
By the way, I absolutely agree with you, the test equipment doesn't make the tech.
BACK TO THE OP, get any radio, the 6666 is a good radio, but so is a 29. What matters is what was mentioned before - put some effort into the antenna and feedline. This matters most.

I notice that when Mud Duck bailed out on the 6666, somebody else here did the same. Before that, the 6666 was the best thing since sliced bread lol

I would still recommend it over a striker radio, especially if you live in the desert in the southwest because the encoder is junk and stops working after you leave it inside the hot truck baking in the sun and the wax melts inside the encoder. The Anytone 6666 doesn't have that problem.Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
