WALKING FLOOR = AMAZING. Why don't more food companies utilize this?

The heavy duty ones do....... increase in cost and weight tho. The one I had would not . The fork lift set the pallets on the back from the ground and I’d suck them forward with the floor. Mainly shingles on pallets..... no straps and had a rollover tarp on the top of the trailer .

    Get going.....:)

I’ve seen one that will take tree length logs and spit them out the back.......

My first trailer would not of held up a forklift 30 years ago it was a light weight trailer with a very light floor but trailers I had later we’re very good for forklift loads, grab a load of bagged cattle feed going out load AG bulk back!

i was talking about food companies. This is basically uneccessary for OTR truckload. Drop and hook is the adVANtage of truckload.

What advantage would this have over a pallet jack?

So anyways, while this tech MIGHT mean more weight and thus less payload capacity, i feel that a driver or driver and helper could complete their deliveries twice as fast if not faster. Thus, they can do more loads per week. In the long run this means much, much more efficiency.

With a low deck, even with high stacked pallets, you should be able to unload from ground level and the cases are right there in front of you. This, again, is why i prefer side-loader. Press a button and the boxes come to you. No more screwing with a liftgate. No more climbing in and out of the trailer.

When i was with republic national the boxes were generally floor loaded usually not more than 2-3 high if that. A walking floor would be perfect for that gig.

    This could be a game-changer.

Much faster than a pallet jack. Please see above explanation.

Much slower, if you really think about it. Even a manual pallet jack can move a pallet faster than the walking floor would, and since it would move the whole load back and forth repeatedly it would negatively affect stability of the product.

Nope, the system in place works well. Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean it's the wrong system.

Reminds me of those Atom Ant cartoons when we were kids.

Looks like Atom Ant hauling those pallets to the back.

Much faster, until that one time the new guy walks a pallet or three all the way out and dumps them on the ground.
