walmart is very professional in all aspects of the company and they treat private fleet and dedicated drivers very good. why do you think the walmart drivers you see on the road are mostly 45-70 years old, guys get in and never leave. I have been told by a few walmart drivers that 100,000 a year income can be made as a walmart private fleet driver

Walmart drivers are compensated very well my neighbor drives for them. I saw his last pay stub from last year he made 96,000 last year works 4 days a week every once in a while will stay out an extra day he said last year he was paid about 11,000 for sleeping in the truck everything is a drop and hook for him being he runs general merchandise if u run grocery everything is live unload... I run alot of dedicated for walmart thru my company ( not jb Hunt schneider or Werner) and I get paid decently. 180 a day straight pay no milage pay but typically only work 8 hours a day.. I really like running dedicated because they actually listen to u and treat u just like u are a walmart driver... U do not need to live near a dc to work for walmart I know of drivers that live in Virginia that work out of tobyhanna pa the only thing about that is u still do not get to take the truck home with you you have to leave it at the dc that u are out of they also have lots of different options like staying out 6 days or 5 days or 4 days also I hear they have stay out for 8 and off for 8 and out for 2 home for 2 from what I was told the average pay 2 years ago was around 76,000 a year

Melpromud, congratulations on getting the call! Keep us informed of the hiring process. I am still waiting to hear my phone ring. I have a good job now, but would love to get on at Wal-mart. I applied July 25, so it has been over a month of waiting.

so what are the requirements for getting on with walmart? i was told at least 2 years OTR experience is required. I have a walmart about 25 minutes from my house and would love to go work for them hauling a regional or even a dedicated run.

Have an interview on Sept.9th. Ill post after that. Herd lots of good. Afew bad but only rumors. Like new drivers dont get weekend off. Days off are mid week. Not sure if its true. Hope not I wont go for that. I live for my weekends! I drive a truck to live my life, not live my life to drive a truck.

Well I turned down the job. It was just as I herd. Work week starts Wed. or Thurs. and goes 5 days. Have to work every weekend. When I asked how long it would last that way I was told they had drivers that have been their 12+ years and they still have to work weekends. I politly thanked them for their time and turned them down. They were very nice. I think a person with no hobbies or a need to be home on weekend would love it but it just aint for me. I guess my weekends are worth 30 or 40 thousand a year to me.

    chemster Thanks this.

I have several hobbies that I need to do only on weekends. My wifes time off is also on weekends and I actually like to see her. The only thing that is rediculis is people that think money is everything. What good is money if you have no life. Also I have a good job and only filled out Wal-Marts app. on a wim. If It would have been Mon thru Fri I would have taken it but like I said before money aint everything. Quality home time and my life when Im home is the most important thing to me. I drive a truck so I can live my life the way I want to. Not live my life to drive a truck.:biggrin_255:
