What did they turn you down for, if I may ask?

They did not specify. I meet all their requirements. Maybe there are just hands out there with more experience.

I have been in wal marts many time and have yet to see anybody holding a gun to an employee's head to keep them there. If you think that the job is bad or underpaid "LEAVE". You chose to be there.

No you don't know it for a fact. You don't work there and have the policy written down for you. That would be a fact. You are just repeating what a friend told you.

Not getting personal with any walmart .....Lovers.....but what that company has been turned into is so far from Sam's vision for his co. its not even amusing. Greed and domination is what walmart is all about and for these reasons I do not patronize their stores.

"I have been in wal marts many time and have yet to see anybody holding a gun to an employee's head to keep them there. If you think that the job is bad or underpaid "LEAVE". You chose to be there."

.....get into a conversation with some of "their" employees concerning their "love" for walmart. Come on man....folks need a job to pay their bills,....gun to their heads?...Yes its called mortgage, rent, utilities, mouths to feed. I shut up now before I really get wound up. I personally would not trade hours for dollars with walmart myself...

So what exactly are the requirements for working with walmart? do they require a certain time OTR? Im thinking of trying to get on them when my contract is up at CRST. i want something dedicated so i know when my time off will be and i can plan stuff better.

They dont do anything dedicated unless you consider only hauling to wal mart stores dedicated. You go where they say as long as you have hours. Its all wal mart DC to wal mart store and return. Sometimes you will pick up a back haul to the DC but most of the time you return empty.

It's just amazing how little most drivers and non-drivers know about how Walmart drivers work and the job requirements.

When you drive for Walmart you start your work week as your program starts, a program is one that a driver choices to be on not forced on, or when your full time work week begins, your start day is one that you selected based on your time with the company. You will know your go home day based on your start day and how many days a week you work and how many days offs for the next six months.

When you leave the DC you may not be back to your home DC for the duration of your work week or you may be back every day.

Yes, we do have a few drivers that elect to rat on their fellow drivers but all companies have these type of drivers.

What is a three point stance when lowering or raising your dolly's? I have heard this term when getting in or out of your truck but dolly's? How would that work? Both feet on the ground and one hand on the dolly, maybe I'll try standing on one leg the next time. If your going to tell a lie then get the facts straight or tell your so called friend to get his facts in line.

    Happy trails to all.

And I agree however, I work for a carrier whom charges the office gals much less than they charge the driver / shop. This defeats everything I ever learned about a "group" policy, by definition is supposed to spread the risk equally across the group.

One main reason they do this is because the policy is expensive and there's no way the carrier could ask the gals to pay say $600 a month and make $12. an hour. He wouldn't have any office people.

This trend will likely spread as others get wind of it. I say it's wrong too but what chu goona dooo?
