IF the whole story was bogus, why would the news report say things, such as:
Unintentional contact, is still contact and is still assault, whether or not charges are filed.
Walmart customer attacks 100 year old greeter for checking her cart.

Very little of the reported Millions lost in theft, that you speak of, comes from people walking out front door, after just clearing register...
Many of that theft comes from credit card transaction, (or other electronically commited fraud), warehouse, and in house employees...
None of which checking reciepts can be a detourant too...
Checking reciepts is a waste of time...true powerful profesional thieves, set their heights much higher...
Like the TSA, their focusing on the wrong thing...Last edited: Dec 14, 2010

Pure48Ted...
I don't know what you want from me... -
I agree on the inside job concept. I saw thousands in employee theft when I was a regional mgr for Super Shops. Guys would throw high-dollar auto parts in the trash, then go dumpster diving after work. Fixed that problem, but more ways were invented.
ghostchild Thanks this. -
You obviously have a chip-on-your-sholder about the whole thing, and could solve it real quick like....if you didn't shop there (Walmart), instead you make vague threats of "if they try it, we'll see what happens to them" (paraphrased, of course). -

'Their steps to curtail retail shopping'
Is very ineffeciant, sloppy, and unessicary...
If I, or anyone else, wanted to steal something, getting past a untrained, part-time greeter, with no security training, in no way would present a challenge, not in the slightest bit...
It's a waste of time, places unessicary people at risk, and allows real true thieves to go about their business, while average law abiding citizens get picked on...
Wow...sounds a lot like what's going on at the airports...
I swear I didn't plan it that way... -
"Sadly what most seem to have missed is that many of the people who are retired do not work because they are 'bored' or 'want' to. It is because they 'have' to. they cannot afford to live without working due to poor investments, health care bills, and such. Gone are the days when you could look forward to 65 and retiring with a decent pension and a house and car paid for.
Someone who is retired should not have to work at all. It is the duty of their family to help take care of them now. Everyone seems to forget this point."
That is your entire post. Now I'd like for YOU to read and reread what YOU typed up. I took the courtesy of putting in bold type for you so that you could see where my reply to you stands. You made your statement as if this lady HAD to work. I simply asked if you read the article and it said in that article that she HAD to work. You made a completely invalid "point." You are not in a position to question my reading comprehension skills so I wouldn't worry about trying it again. Thanks. -
Anybody is entitled to their own opinions. We live in a society of distrust. Most of your problems are with Walmart procedures and not the poor little old man trying to supplement his SSI so he can pay his light bill. He's just doing a what his boss tells him. I was raised that you respect your elders no matter what or how you disagree. Most times you can learn something if you just listen.
GuysLady and bullhaulerswife Thank this.
