Plus, what's the harm? How long does it really take to just walk up to the door with receipt in hand and be on your way? Certainly a lot less time than it takes to make a fuss simply to draw attention to yourself.

I have one younger brother that is constantly screaming about being a victim, when in all truth, he is the bully in the picture, and that that holds true 90% of of the time, with 90% of the people screaming about being a victim.

If you do not want to let them see your receipt don't shop there. If you are upset by a stores actions and continue to shop there and make a big deal out of it every time "no you cant see my receipt" blah blah whose being ridiculous then? It really is ridicolous to spend your money somewhere that annoys you, when walmart is hardly the ONLY clothing/electronic/grocery/pet store.

I'll continue shopping at walmart or anywhere else I feel like shopping...
1. It's not something they do everytime...infact 98% of the time, I get left alone...
(it's a very inconsistant policy, and that's what makes it so annoying)
2. The stores or greeters that did do it to me, or greeters, have stopped...they don't bother me no more...I got the result I wanted...so instead they pick on those they know they can...
3. For those who want to continue being humiliated by showing your reciept...by all means, knock yourselves out...but I choose to stand up for myself, and as a result my shopping experience is much better...
If someones smacking you on the btt as you leave football games..you can either say, 'Oh well, that's life'...
Or you can say 'Hey, stop smacking my btt, it's not nessicary'...
And then they'll stop...and you can continue enjoyed football....
I spoke up for myself, and as a result, they leave me alone...cause they know my character now (that I'm a honest citizen and stealing is not apart of my ethics)...and as such focus on any and everyone except me...
there's nothing wrong with standing up for yourself...Last edited: Dec 15, 2010

Listen, I don't like people in general any more than you do and there are some real winners out there, let me tell you. I could right a novel on the jerks and jerk-like actions I witness every day. But personally, I don't go around making a fool out of myself. I say "please" and "thank you" all the time and try to stay friendly when I find myself in a situation where I am dealing with a lot of people, be it crowds at the store or employees of the places I shop.
If an 80 year old greeter wants to see my receipt, they are more than welcome to - what right do I have of interferring with the job they were hired to do. For cryin' out loud, they are looking at a little piece of paper...you are acting like they want to do a full body cavity search. And who has the problem here?
In the end, if you want to act like a doofus, that's on you - it will make their day a little more unpleasant, so put another notch in your utility belt if that's what you're going for. Or you can be pleasant, suffer through the 3 to 5 seconds it takes, and then walk away with a pleasant attitude, knowing they'll be dealing with some other jerk with the same attitude as yours a few minutes after you leave.
*sigh* Just another sign of things that are wrong in this world. People don't give a flying shiznit about other people anymore. And we wonder why things are as scummy as they are. -
I NEVER mentioned in what you quoted that this particular woman HAD to work. Try reading slowly and calmly to get the jist of the message. I do not think I could make it any clearer. If you still cannot comprehend the idea behind the post as not directed at any one person (maybe bold will help you since you use it yourself) but to many of the retired folks we see working.
Good day sir. -
Twilightflyer:
You got issues guy...
Why don't you just stick to the topic, instead of trying to phyco analize my character or being...
(if your for greeters man handling your ego, and self esteem...than state why)
(If your against it, than state why)
But this is not about us, the posters...it's about Wal-mart and their practice of tackling and dog pileing your dignity as you leave the store...
And not all greeters are 100 years old...get past that simple premise please...
If you want to continue to be humiliated by greeters who suspect you of being a theif....knock yourself out....
I, and certain others, choose not to...and as a result have a much better relationship with them...cause now they smile and say 'good day'...and we have normal dialogue...like any other valued custimor...
Grow up guy...and quit bending things so out of proportion....Last edited: Dec 15, 2010

I don't see what the big deal is. If you have NOTHING to hide, show them the receipt and be on your way. They are not there to insult you, just doing a job.
I have NO problems handing over my receipt, because I HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE.
I don't get defensive about it, because I realize that they are just keeping the cost down to me. Yes, to me. Because WE ultimately pay for the stuff that walks out the doors. More thefts, higher insurance premiums = higher costs at the register. DUH!!!
So you might want to thank them next time your asked to see a receipt, because they are actually saving you money!!!Lilbit, IROCUBabe, GuysLady and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm with you BH'sW.GuysLady and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -
Y aknow, I feel sorry for persons who are so weak minded that something so simple as co-operating and being pleasant with a WalMart greeter somehow makes them a victim.. It's really, really sad.
Texas-Nana, Flying Finn, Pur48Ted and 1 other person Thank this.
