Do what China said. Even while you’re lade off your seniority clock is still running and you will have 4 years in soon with UPS.

I would put in a two week notice at walmart since you have time. You could get rehired at walmart if you leave in good standing. My buddy was at a walmart onboarding event 2 weeks ago, he said a handful of the guys there were rehires who quit when WM went crazy with the cell phone & drivecam policy. So they definitely rehire.

But UPS is the better job hands down. I'd stick with it

I suppose that means union companies don’t pull the old “lay you off and never call you back” bit as an easy way to get rid of the people they don’t like.

We had a guy that worked in the hub as a sorter for about 1 year then went into the army for 4 years was rehired back into the hub and was offered a driving spot with 5 years seniority. There was a weird section in the UPS master contract that had him fall into military service and protected his teamster rights.

Yeah bro honestly, UPS seems like the better move here OVERALL. My vote is leave Walmart in good standing, go back to UPS.

Three years into the list and still vulnerable to layoffs, that’s bananas.

I’d stick it out with UPS this far in the game.

Lots here are looking at it for the benefits/money and rightfully so. I look at it as having UPS being the consistent theme of your professional history basically helps to write your ticket to go wherever you want.

Also it depends on hub…some hubs don’t lay you off but place you ”on call” or make you work inside the hub loading trailers or send you out in package car. It all depends on a hub and how it’s ran.
