It is, $60 to put chains on. And they often have assistants stationed at the chain areas to help drivers put their chains on if they need help. I suck at chaining, and it takes me all of 30 minutes to chain up. 10 minutes to take the chains off. Not bad money for 40 minutes of work.

If your already a driver, you can transfer after a year. If not, keep an eye out for positions opening. They may be doing some more hiring shortly. And use a referral, mine or somebody else’s employee ID. It helps, trust me.

Yea probably, I dunno if I could go in and edit mine to get it bumped ahead. Does anyone have info about how long the hiring process is? I’ve seen that on boarding is 3-4 days, but what happens when you get sent back to your dc? also how long from initial contact until you get to on boarding?

When you get to your DC, you’ll spend the first 2-3 days doing classroom/orientation. Then, at least at my DC, you’ll go out with 2-3 driver trainers over the next 2-3 weeks. They are not there to pass or fail you...you’ll be out with them so they can teach you the “Walmart Way” and how we do things day in and day out. After that, if there aren’t any problems, you’ll be out on your own

The training is a couple of days doing some paperwork and videos and talking more about safety and policy etc. Then in Brooksville anyway, you’re out with a trainer for 5 days before you’re typically cut lose on your own. If you need a little more time then they will typically approve it. I also think you need to put the referral info on the application when you apply.
