I am old enough to remember the round tables at the truckstops back in the 60s 70s and 80s...I remember well the twenty year Jackets on the LTL drivers who had the attitude that if you were not working for a union LTL...well you were just a bottom feeder. They had it made and were happy to tell you that....as long as the earth turned, there would be a (fill in the blank) company for them...blind faith in the future of there trucking company...and there pay. Companies like, Smith, Ryder, Signal, Jones, etc. ....................................................................................................round tables are gone![]()

I think it depends on what region you are in. Some drivers seem to make more than others. My husband is out of Indiana and makes 15-1600 a week. We don't complain because it's still more than he would make anywhere else around our area. We also have insurance for everyone and he got to start a 401K. I'm sure it goes up as you get time with the company as well.
