Would you experienced drivers in here rather drive for Walmart or UPS tractor trailer? and why? I have connections at both and could possibly get a job at both places, but i can't decide! Thanks!

Walmart if you are a company driver. UPS like Fed ex spends too much time in the ditches during winter. Why pull light weight doubles and triples on ice?

UPS tops out at around $35 per hour right now. Plus overtime. And home every day. The guys at the top of the scale who don't want to work a lot make around $80k. Most are making over $100k.

Walmart is a one of the best gigs around in a sleeper truck. I have heard they treat their private fleet drivers really well. And that they don't have to deal with much BS.

A friend of mine works at UPS and said he could help me get on, but said it is a miserable environment and he would feel guilty helping me get a job there. He is only just now getting some respect from his managers after working there 2 full years. He says he is only there for the money.

It depends on what is important to you.

UPS too much like military.....they know their stuff for sure but.....and overall probably make more with Brown but I still vote Wally.

So your saying you can walk in off the street into a Brown TT? No PT sorting line waiting for a van to come open? And no years in a van waiting for a TT?

    Impressive.....

I thought I read somewhere that Walmart does not allow you to use your cell phone while driving even if you have a hands free device. That would suck I think not to be able to talk while driving killing a little time.
I read that you have to agree to showing them your cell phone records if they ask :(
I am not sure this is even true but I read it on here somewhere , someone feel free to post if they know if this is true.

Well that's easy. Just get a second phone just for work and say nothing about your other phone.

That would be the smart choice at any company imo... But I think walmart runs cameras so they would know either way wouldnt they?
