Dont waste your time with 6 Speed Rooster, he would much rather you become a mindless union drone for UPS, or FedEx, rather than do something that tests you and requires you to actually work.

They are giving away trucks, duh, when entering into a L/P you have no investment or stake other than a CDL and a pulse. Its no different than the same scenario which crashed the housing market.
 -

The Union Drones at UPS have a success rate of around 99.999%.
Your FedEx comment makes no sense.
I only think hard working truckers need not have deal with Fleece purchase deals where 80% fail in advance.browndawg Thanks this. -

Shoot you can gross that at UPS in a year be home every day and retire in 25 yrs with full benefits. So if u start at UPS when you are 30 years old you will be retired when you are 55 years old. just saying.

Except the part where you work for dog wages and #### hours running all the stuff the senior guys don't want to and working the docks too. Oh yeah gotta start out part time first and "prove" yourself. Screw that.Chinatown Thanks this.

I don't think you understood my reply at all.
Now to your reply. Are you saying people shouldn't lease because they haven't invested into their business? Are you implying I don't deserve the money I make?
Comparing lease deals to a housing market crash makes me believe you don't know much about either. -

The housing market crashed because they(houses) were given to people who could not afford them, which is exactly why most L/P fail.

This whole argument sounds like this to me:
**Lease/purchase agreements are horrible contracts that only benefit the company; any driver who gets into one is a fool, destined for immense failure, period. No ifs, ands, or buts.
**Any driver who wants to succeed as a non-company driver has to save money, buy a truck on his own, maybe even get his own authority (this, of course, being the only way to practically guarantee success), and arrange loads on his own. Only then will he succeed. No ifs, ands, or buts.
Well, hogwash. Both are ludicrous. Either one can succeed and both can fail. Many will, but here's the key questions: WHO CARES? And whose business is it, anyway? If any driver - you, me, that one over there - wants to get into a lease or a lease/purchase, who else should care? What business is it of ours? What right do we have to call names, make disparaging, ugly remarks, or make it personal in any way? There is no reason for or benefit to these extreme opinions that are not backed up with documented facts.
As far as I know, in our country, we still get to succeed or fail based on our own decisions, planning, and/or performance. So we should get off our high horses, stop being snobs, and either offer support and positive support and feedback when asked or shut the h$ll up.Mike g, mukhtarjama, silverwolf59 and 4 others Thank this. -
