Want to avoid getting burned by a lease-purchase agreement?

Being paid every two weeks is not a bad thing. One must be able to learn to budget himself/herself. In all actuality it worked out great. The other two i did were John Christener (truck paid in full), and Hirschbach Motor Lines

 

No getting paid every two weeks isn't bad, but making $600-1300 every two weeks is bad

 

Not really. This is after truck payment, maintenance fund, fuel, expenses are taken out. I lived in the truck. So no real bills, other than those associated with the truck. Budgeting ones self is how to survive with lease purchase. I do not work for them, and have not for quite awhile. paid cash for my truck i own now. No payments.

Not really? are you freaking kidding me? I worked four hours last week and netted more than what you think is good income on two weeks of work.

I should book mark this post, it's a perfect example of why it's so much harder to get a decent rate today.

 

Well, by standards of a lease purchase program. It was a paycheck. Unlike other L/P programs where you never see a paycheck. This was after all expenses were taken out that the Gross pay of 600-1300.00. So all the nay sayers can scoff at the pay, but too many times in a lease purchase there is no paycheck. This is why i own my own truck now, and have left the lease purchasing to the new drivers and those with bad credit. This was a company where a driver could actually make a check, and not be working thier tail off to just pay for a truck.

 

Renegade, no matter how you spin it or justify it to yourself, it's horrible pay. That's literally half of a good company driver job, and the company driver gets matching 401k and health insurance on top of it.

 

I would also agree with RickG, the best way to avoid getting burned is to never get involved with a lease. Instead of leasing I would prefer to get low-interest loans as I always do. I used to consult a lender called Truck Loan Center in Brampton who provides truck and trailer loans. If you are getting better interest rates, then getting a loan is the best choice.
