Hey guys glad this fprum is around. I am looking at getting a career in driving and need some help. I have 3 DWI's that are over 17 years old and seem to be hitting a wall with recruiters and finding a school, or a job. Is there any way that I'll be able to get a job driving truck? I have been sober for 16 years but on paper that doesn't matter. If there are any suggestions please let me know, or if anyone is from the MN area and has thoughts suggestions and know of where to go and what to do about this I am ready for thoughts. Thanks
want to be a new driver

Hello, RodiRon
Welcome to the Site!!! In response to the 3 DWI`s, as long as they are at least 10 years old. Get your 10 year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) to take with you when applying with a school. It will speak for you. Your past will remain the past and your success in soberiety will reflect on your clean MVR. Do you have any moving violations? Best of Luck.

P.S. Adam, if you like, you can post the company for him in this thread. It may even help others in rodiron's situation. Thanks!

All that he needs to do, is find a few companies that DON'T go into Canada, OR Mexico....there are MANY for him to inquire about.
I really don't see 17 year old offenses hindering his hireability.(is that even a WORD? anyway...)
After all, companies hire folks who have felonies as recent as 3 years ago, so 17 year old offenses should not be a problem, as long as there have been no other arrests or MV citations in the interim 17 years.
