Hello guys
I am just buying the new 2016 kenworth day cab - have two options one is leasing and one financing .. I have read that people were not that happy with the peccar motors as they do not run longer. I never bought a kenworth before not having good experiences with volvo, mack and freightliners either . Kenworth is little expensive from other available trucks .... My question is ---
is it worth to buy??
Any bad Experince with peccar motor ???
They claim to run 2 million kms but heard that it's not worth running half a million kms ... ???
Some stories about the warranty coverages too ... That kenworth is bad when it comes to warranty ....???
Which warranty according to canadian plan you guys recommend to purchase ...???
There is some 2 years additional warranties coming when I buy with peccar finance ... Is it worth something ???
Any sort of update will help me to decide about buying this unit or not .
I highly appreciate the feedbacks and your farsightedness in advance
As Iam goin to buy these today or tomm so plz give me reviews as early as possible .
I'll stay in touch
Sincerely
Ontario , canada

Why not give a clue as to your location in the world?
The "km's" tell us it isn't N.A., but where exactly?
No point someone in North America telling you about KW dealers here, if you are on the other side of the globe is there....passingthru69 Thanks this. -
I would get the extended warrentys on the engine, clutch, trans, rear ends, cab and chassie and also the emissions components. A friend of mine has 120,000 miles on his MX and loves it. Very good fuel economy. The dealer he bought from gave him the run around on warrenty work so he switched dealers and has gotten good service. Most of his problems have been sensors which he has not lost any work time over.

mxpx148, slim shady and DrtyDiesel Thank this. -
I have 485,000 miles on an MX. I've had nearly every sensor replaced on the BS emissions system in the past year but other than that the motor itself has had no problems. Doesn't use oil, pulls ok, fuel mileage is ok - in other words I think it's just as good as buying one with a Cummins. As far as warranty, if it's covered, it's covered, if it's not it's not. Read the fine print and I would suggest buying extended coverage on everything especially the emissions systems.

What model year of unit u have ?? Sir
I think the 2016 will be a bit improved . And yes I'll buy the extended warranties for engine and emission System .. -
buy a paccar engine and you will be stuck going to dealers for engine problems,MHC KW dealers charge $155/hr labor rates,,get a cummins and you can go to many small shops that are cummins authorized repair shops some with labor rates below $70/hr...

In Ontario Canada PACCAR shops are basically under 2 companies 1 being the KW dealer ( KENWORTH TRUCK CENTRES 9 Locations ) and the other being the PETE dealer ( PETERBILT ONTARIO TRUCK CENTRES 13 Locations ) so not much price bargains on labour rates have dealt with both on PACCAR issues.

Lets not forget Australia, New Zealand, etc that all run in kilometers instead of MPH.
Like I said, a clue would have been nice. As stated, there are but 2 dealers to work on that motor in Ontario, not a good choice IMHO.
