Will I have a problem getting hired as a Class A driver ( or getting insured) if I have several tickets on my driving record (all in my personal vehicle). Oldest ticket was in 2007, then have tickets in 2008, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016 (speeding, tailgating, not making complete stop @ stop sign, failure to obey sign/signal, red light ticket). Anyone have any experience getting hired with multiple tickets in personal vehicle.

Serious question. If you can’t pay attention to the speed limit signs and stop signs, will you see the “no trucks” sign, the “low clearance” sign and the “20 ton bridge ahead” sign? Tickets drop off after 3 years so you may only have one on your record right now.

The speeding ones and tailgating are killer brother. We just turned down a guy who had a speeding ticket in his personal vehicle 2 months ago. Those two violations go hand in hand, and most companies are going to look at this and ask, "What the hell is this guy's problem?" Besides, you get those tickets in a cmv, there are companies that will fire you for that.

a single speeding ticket? i wouldn't think that would be a big deal, but a pile of them.... that can never been good. i run a radar detector in my personal vehicle, i dont normally speed but i still CYA. its far too easy to find yourself speeding in a car without realizing it, especially with the open country roads we have here.

If you are that bad in a regular car, I can only imagine the risk in a 18 wheeler right now.
There was a time I was worse than you were in regards to tickets. If anyone piled them high, it would be me in my time.
Today's industry hiring is dictated by insurance risk which is decided by your own record. If it is clean and no bad things like tickets you are hireable. But with that smelly stack of tickets? Forget it. Wait about three years after your newest and last violation.
STOP speeding. Or sell that car. Get something you don't like to speed in. Or better yet unable to speed like you want.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
