Why would you want to trade something that appreciates(in normal times) for something that depreciates?

Okay, I am still scratching my head on this. Help me out here Dejavu. You came to America with $300 in your pocket and you bought $500k worth of commercial property? How did you do this? Are you David Copperfield or something? e=mc^2 ? What? Help me out here seriously.

Obviously I am doing something wrong here or not living right. :biggrin_25513:

with 500k, you can get 1 maybe 2 trucks, the rest will have to be spent on startup costs, licensing, etc.

What they heck kind of BILLYRIGGERMOBILES are you planning to buy and only get 2 for a good portion of $500K.

This guy is looking for older trucks $20 to $30,,000.00 price range

I was also leaning towards startup costs...here in CA, anyway, starting a business costs about that much after permits and licensing fees, etc.

I am not a Copperfield. When i came to USA ,Green Bay ,Wisconsin was my first city i was working in.Used to work in Shopko company then Greenbay cheese then couple factories, was working on 2 jobs,2 shifts every day including sunday sometimes. Made some money and moved with my friend to Florida. Started to work for one company.Worked less then a year.Had in my pocket around 24k.Invested this money in my first company, bought a forklift 1985 )) build a ramp for 6k so i can load cars in containers, paid 12 k for deposit and first month lease of the property
First month was in 0 profit but no loss,so that means i made around 7k
Next month i exported 30 containers, the month after that around 80,every next month was around 120 containers. For half a year i was operating a company with my friend,so that means we was loading contianers ourselfs, unloading carhaulers that were delivering cars to us,unswering calls, dam n that was fun running around like crazy. And every trucker that was delvering cars to us was like "Are you guys only 2 people working here?"and then"Dam n you are crazy!"cause they saw a parking lot of 200cars,couple carhaulers waiting for unloading ,couple containers and us running around )))))))))).We usually was ending loading containers at 6-9 p.m So after this i was making documentation for all this staff, also was arranging deliveries of the cars to my lot,so usually we was going to bed at 2-3 a.m
Guys, this is not some kind of magic or something, beleive me i worked really hard to get what i wanted.Offcourse i get a great luck that years, like somebody invisible was helping me.
The good thing in USA is that you can make your dreams come true if you are a hard worker and know what to do.

Yeah, but still i was making this post to get some advise, and all i can read here is how some of the people are jealous.:biggrin_25522:

    P.S I am not talking about you rubberducky68 ))
