Then come to CA and find out for yourself. Actually, spare yourself from this commie state and stay the hell out. Maybe the grass is greener elsewhere.

Here is a question for you.
Have you ever driven a transport truck? If not you should try that for 1 year before you venture any further.
Trucking is probably the most competative industry in North America. One big mistake and you could loose everything that you have, at least the property is solid investment.
Everyone has dreams hoever some dreams turn into a nightmare.
You need to do lot's of research and be very carefull. The loads are not paying that well right now, you would make more money as an Owner /Opertor. However once the economy improves that's when I would start buying trucks.
This board has lot's of good and bad advice, just be carefull.Dejavu, Jarhed1964 and bulldozerbert Thank this. -
Seems to me, that his story is not that unbelievable. Don't know how he managed to come into that property, but I'm certain that we've all heard stories of immigrants coming to this country working their tails off and getting what they want.
What he described in running his business is undoubtedly WAY above what most Americans have the stomach for. We have to admit, we are pretty spoiled with the hours we work and the pay we get, and most of us don't save the way we *could* in order to get the things we want.
That said, I'd still like to know how you paid for the property. Is it still encumbered with a mortgage? You say you paid for the first months' lease, are you still leasing? If so, how are you going to sell it? -
Yahoo,i was sending e-mails today to all the dealers on truckpaper ,one guy just called me,he is comming to Jacksonville to discuss everything
-
I was leasing in the begining when i started the business, then bought property for cash and moved business to my own property. The property has no morgages or leans on it ))Bad thing is i owe 12k property taxes on it
P.S i totally agree with your comment,i just feel uncomfortable to say that myself here

Wow. You must have been RAKING the cash in from your business. Why did you stop running that business again?
And yes, I've seen it over and over. Immigrants come to this country and are amazed at the opportunity and end up making us look like a bunch of whiny-axxed babies with our thumbs in our mouths. The work ethic is not totally gone from this country, but it is getting harder and harder to find. We now have this rediculous "entitlement" mentality and *most* are not willing to gut out the hard times with little or no social/family life in order to put money away like you did.
Bravo for doing what you did.Dejavu Thanks this. -
Biggest ####roach I ever saw in my life was at the Greyhound terminal in Jacksonville. It was scurrying around in the shadows, and at first I thought it was a mouse! Yecch!
Strange, the things a person remembers...
