Want to publish a book with me?

Hey everybody,

I am a former trucker with a background in book publishing, and I had an idea to take photographs from a number of truckers and turn them into a coffee table book showing people America through the eyes of truck drivers. It's just a passion project, something I've been kicking around for a while and decided to look here to see if anybody would like to jump on board with me.

I'm looking for between 10 and 20 drivers who love capturing what life is like out there on the road to submit as many photographs as they like. Depending on how many people participate and how many photos are selected, each driver would get 10-20 published in the book. If you're interested, here are some details:

I am looking for photographs of:

Nature: Mountains, valleys, deserts, ocean, bridges, tunnels.
Life on the road: Truck stops, shippers/receivers, ports, rest stops, terminals and more.
Cities: Skylines, landmarks, traffic, etc.

Views from the dash of the truck or incorporating your truck are cool and preferred, but of course if you're going to take these take them safely.

The higher the picture quality the better. They may have to be edited for resolution or size, but editing would be minor.

If at all possible, please specify the location of each photograph. If desired, feel free to write a caption for the photos beyond the location. I will incorporate these captions where possible. If you are the eloquent sort, I'm open to poetry or a paragraph or two written about the photographs. How I incorporate anything of the sort would come down to how the book is formatted and how much room I have to work with, along with artistic design.

Attribution would be given to all chosen photographers. I would love to have a section in the back for a short bio of each trucker with their photograph, but not everybody wants that sort of recognition so we could take it on a case-by-case basis.

Payment: I can't afford to pay anything up front for these pictures--I'm not a publisher these days, just a guy who has the know-how to publish a book and the desire to do it. I will do all of the work of design, editing and publication and will foot those expenses. I will get every contributor any amount of copies they desire at cost and you will get a royalty percentage for every copy sold. All of that would be ironed out before publication.
