I get a lot of my static from a 3 plug 12v power port. You know the ones where you can plug in the GPS, cell phone, and other accessories. My static gets real bad when charging my cellphone. I just turn the squelch up a little.
Want to pull in from greater distance with factory KW mirror mount

That is called ultrasonic interference, the cell phone charger and the other items are using cheap chargers which actually are not following the FCC regs on interference.HD_Renegade, J Rich and Slowmover1 Thank this.

Sounds like you need to buy a single or double power plug just for the radio. Might take away the static interference from the other plugged in items
-
Not sure who you are talking to, but my radio goes directly to the battery. -
It don't matter, it is those other cheaply built items that interject the interference into the entire truck that's the problem..

I had to “retire” an otherwise handy three-way. Had phone, headset and GPS plugged into it. Noisy as hell.
-
Come on now! The squelch fixes everything.

How is the DSP speaker powered ?? Does it have separate power or does it get power from plugging into the external speaker port on the back of the CB. If not how did you supply power to it being up above ??

Where you gonna put that big ### speaker at in the T680? -
I am not completely sure just yet. I might remive the center visor and put it there.
