I’ll bet I’m not the only one who has never thought about building an antenna. You’ve brought it up before.
Why is it easy, and where to start?
Want to pull in from greater distance with factory KW mirror mount

Unscrew the shaft from the bottom.
Measure the height of the load and whip.
Subtract that measurement from 81 inches.
Cut a 3/8 stainless rod to your needed length to create the 81 inch antenna.
Using a 3/8-24 die, cut threads on both ends of the stainless rod. I use this for threading rods.
Screw the rod into the load and secure with loctite threadlocker.
Attach to truck and tune.Last edited: Nov 6, 2018
Slowmover1 Thanks this. -
I am curious to know how much better that would be over the 6' Skip Shooter. Although I am already clipping trees. Whips shaped like a ? isn't a good look. Still so curious.Last edited: Nov 6, 2018

It’s about using digital signal processing (filtration) as a means of improving performance.
1). That it’s encased with the speaker: irrelevant. Could be an inline module.
2). Speaker location helps, but irrelevant to increased performance of the radio rig. Location is not in any way a substitute.
A basic digital radio, digital audio filtration, and tallest antennas plus a KL203, the best starting point for today’s composite company trucks (where no changes are allowed).
It will ALL run off of the 15A CB Radio circuit. Out of the box. No tweak & peak. Set SWR and go.
Work other changes as time and company policy allow.
Hear, and get heard.

What they need to make is a DSP cb radio. -
Oh my fault. I just read back, and see you're working with a Uniden. That explains the need for $200+ speaker. My bad! Carry on Sir.Slowmover1 Thanks this.
