    I do.

    2020 Freightliner Cascadia mid-roof, DD13, DT-12

And just got the estimate from Excel truck group, Chesapeake, VA.

DT-12-DA, non PTO from the factory.

    3,297.77 in parts
    2,910.00 in labor
    2,000 in misc charges

This includes adding the dash switch, air operated servos that control the transmission, and logging the changes into the DTNA system. Plus reprogramming the CPC to let the truck know there is a PTO installed.

This only includes transmission changes, under warranty from Freightliner. This quote does not include the actual pump, hydraulic lines, tanks, pumps, compressors etc. that may be hooked up to this transmission upgrade.

    Total Parts, Tax, Labor:

    8,896.64

And it will be about a 2 week wait until we can get the truck back to you.

Freeking this! The hell are those guys smokeing? Meth? Special mushrooms? I had mine fully installed for like $5000 and the most expensive single part was the 55 gallon drum of oil for my 60 gallon pony tank.

Those guys are scamming the everloving ####ing #### out of you man. Go look these folks up https://g.co/kgs/h1KUJE even if you gotta deadhead a truck there and back your going to save several thousand. And thats without looking for a local place that didnt see you coming a mile away.

    Jesus christ mate.

So what is $3300 in parts, a switch and servo? That sounds like a wet kit too.

It sounds like none of the internals are there to drive the PTO, it's not just a matter of bolting one on and done. Muncie referenced that prep kit as required as well.

You're probably right. I know some of the earlier versions of the DT12 were not PTO compatible, so maybe that's what he's running into and needs the upfit to make it work.

Aye Carumba, I never thought anything that needed a wet kit would ever be able to repay that. Might be better to buy an old Mack cabover already equipped with one.:dontknow:

    Update...

Going to pick up the truck tomorrow. I cannot blame Excel Truck Group for parts delays. They waited almost a week and a half for parts to get shipped in from various Detroit and Freightliner dealers around the country. Something like 30 different parts had to be ordered.

Yes, as mentioned above my DT-12 was not originally built with a pto prep kit. There are some cheaper ways to install a pto, however it would interfere with the Detroit warranty, which I did not want to do. Also, I did not like the idea of a bottom mounted pto option, like Belzares offers. Too low to the ground. If I had a 13 spd Eaton it would be a different story.

Good news is, the final bill, parts, labor, ended up totaling $5,687.13. To me that seems reasonable. I believe the initial estimate was inflated because they did not know what the mechanics were going to run into when they opened the transmission, or simply because no mechanic had ever converted one before.

Anyways, transmission is split, new output shaft added, warranty intact for another 125K miles, here's to hoping every time I hit that dash switch it works.
