I should have noted that this was a HORRIBLE FUEL WEEK. Not even 1 load under 42,000 lbs. Additionally I am just about due for my DPF cleaning. I had a .5 mpg drop vs a similar week in November. (similar load weights, miles, etc)
paul_4lp Thanks this. -
Thanks for posting your numbers. I have a few questions if you don't mind:
Do you get detention regardless of whether the customer pays?
Is the rate the same for every customer? Still qualify for first hour of detention after sitting 2?
What is the layover pay?
How much is the typical fuel discount at pilot/flying j?
Ezpass included for free?
Pikepass?
How much is border crossing pay?
Hazmat pay?
NE pay?
Do you still get a safety bonus? If so, is it the same as company drivers?
Can you go 75mph without getting into trouble (in a 75+ zone obviously)?
Aside from that 6-7cpm taken out for insurance, qualcomm, & disability, what other administrative costs are there (plates? hut?)
Does conway pay owed IFTA if you tend to buy fuel in low tax states? -
This are some surprising and interesting points you make. Specially what you did to increase fuel economy.
Which truck did you buy from them? Did you keep the super singles? I LOVED the T660 I had there. It's by far the best truck I've driven. It gave great fuel economy while still having balls when you needed the power. It didn't have the ride of a Volvo but performance wise it was excellent. They definitely spec'd those out perfectly.
I'm glad you have a good experience with them. I didn't, and I have always been hungry to make the most money out of every situation so I know it wasn't my fault.
One last question. What's the average fuel price they give you? Is fueling at terminals even cheaper? How much is it to fuel in Lancaster or Laredo? -
Double and oi. I am running a little behind this afternoon. When I stop tonight I will get right on a response. (Provided my 3g/4g service is available)
double yellow Thanks this. -

And dont forget not everyones luck is the same!! -
After reading through this and other parts of this forum....A lot of you whine a ton. Just do your job and if you don't like it....leave...Like everyone knows, a job is a job. It has its good and bad days. But to sit back and whine or giving someone idea's that they shouldn't work somewhere because YOU had a bad experience there is pathetic...grow up. If you didn't like working for someone, do something about it. Share your experience and give legitimate proof before you state anything that you believe is true. This arguing back and fourth is ridiculous. Be and act like an adult, not a child.
And lastly, be responsible for yourself. No one is responsible for you.Last edited: Dec 30, 2013
