Hi, thank you for reading my post. I want to sign up to get a CDL, but I don't want to spend all the money if I cannot get a job. As it's posted in the title, I have a prior convictions of Operating after Revocation in 2008 and Operating With a controlled substance later in 2008. Are these past offenses enough to bar me from employment/obtaining a CDL?

the revocation thing is old enough where that shouldnt effect ur hiring. not sure about the other thing. You might have to find a small privately insured company that dont care. You will just have too call around ask recruitng and explain your situation. good luck

There's companies out there which will hire anything with a pulse. *Cough* 2008 is before CSA 2010...hint hint and most state DMV only keep records 3 years on most stuff. Did it ever really happen? I would investigate into it but Id say you got a shot. Time heals a lot of things.

Since I don't know where your from and the exact circumstances around said incident i will tell you that it might be a good idea too see if you are eligible for an expungement or sealing of your charges that way you dont have to worry about it.

If your not sure you can always ask an attoerney/lawyer for free at avvo (google it) also depending on what state you live in or were charged in you may be eligible for what they call POST-SENTENCING REDUCTION so that if your original charge was you can get it dropped down so it can be sealed or expunged....

I had a felony and am in the process of getting it expunged
