well i started my first day at a cdl mill in raleigh, nc.
the reason i decided on this school was because it was one of two that the work force investment act would pay for.

the first day was completely unorganized.
since i had my permit before i started class, i got to go out and ride in the truck....oh what fun...1 student driving, 1 instructor, and 3 smelly dudes crammed into the sleeper berth.
i couldn't see a **** thing, the instructor wasn't instructing...just **** ******** we drove about 45 minutes then stopped at a rest stop...then another 45 minutes and stopped at a gas station...then 45 minutes at a rest stop....with no education on truck driving...just smoke breaks.
when we got back to the school...which is a big double wide trailer with a big muddy yard...the instructor got the truck stuck in the #### mud!
on top of that he was going to let me pull him out with my 4.3 liter v6 chevy truck....i didn't get to try that...but it wouldn't have worked anyway...because another student had to go to walmart to get a strap and he tried to pull the truck out with his z-71 chevy truck with a v8
that truck just sat there and spun all four tires...and the semi didn't budge. finally after the strap broke....the instructor went and got a bobtail and pulled it out.

the second day...i went to the owner of the school and asked if i could switch to the weekend class.... and i told him i thought everything was disorganized.....he let me have it and threatend to kick me out of the school....(yeah...like i got something to lose...the government is paying for it.)

this class was over crowded and they just fired a instructor just before i got there.

the instructor that i got...the one that put the truck in the mud....he grinded every gear...every time.

i'm going to stick it out and just get my license...and pray that whichever company i go to work for will train me properly.

I cant remember if this is the place I am thinking about. I remember passing a CDL school that has a huge dirt lot, I pass it all the time but I don't remember where. I would turn the school into the people paying for it. Just goto charlotte and work for Schneider.

    Just An Update On This...
I Complained To The People That Funded This School.
They Heard My Case And Sided With Me. They Are Going To Withdraw Their Money From This School....and Transfer Me To Another School....which Is Hopefully Going To Be Better.

I'll Let Yall Know After 10 Weeks!

I just plunked down 3,400 dollars to get training at my local community college here in eastern Virginia. Before spending this kind of money,I went to a local trucking company, and talked to the head of personell,to see what they knew about the training school, and my prospect for a job after completing their program. He said "your instructor is the best there is" and based on that I would hire you as soon as you finish......That was good enough for me,so this monday I'll be starting my training. I think that no matter where you go for instruction,or where you go for a job, you'll get out what you put in....If you act like a clown, you will be trated as a clown...
