And how did you find out that you didn't need the CPAP again? Was it the test? Hmmmmmm.. you'd think there was some correlation between the test and discovering whether or not someone needs a CPAP machine or not..

You caught me.JolliRoger, mjd4277 and TB John Thank this. -
I have and use a CPAP. I find I sleep deeper, ( dream more ) no longer snore, and move around less, ( no more waking up with no covers )
On the down side; I needed to buy a new pillow. I have frequent nose bleeds in the morning. My mouth is often dry in the AM. The head/nose piece leave red marks on my face depending on if I sleep on my side, which I do frequently
Your results my vary.mjd4277, Dale thompson and Lonesome Thank this. -
Carriers shouldn’t be doing DOT physicals, period. We either trust our accredited doctors, or not.
That said, I see no problem with carriers performing work readiness physical tests. Just not for the purpose of a medical card, only to see if applicants can handle their work assignments.Knucklehead and TB John Thank this. -
We had a driver who had undiagnosed sleep apnea (skinny guy, didn’t have a particularly thick neck) who apparently was having frequent momentary blackouts, drove his personal car off the road. Nobody hurt, thank goodness, but they discovered his sleep apnea and he’s been fine ever since starting to use a CPAP machine.

You were expected to be just another dum trucker.
Broke and desperate for a job.
They knew exactly what they were doing by waiting
Until the last minute to push that physical on you.
They assumed you would have already quit your
Previous job and need a paycheck as soon as possible.
Like most of these broke clowns we have out here now.
That's why these companies can get away with lying
And flipping the script any way they want,at any time.
I always drive my own vehicle to orientation and
Pay for my own motel.
I take nothing from them until I'm in the truck.
Don't care if it's a 1000 miles away.
That way if they if they all of a sudden want to
Change our agreement, because they think I need them,
And I'm stuck there, broke.
I just drive back home.
I've been burnt once, 20 years ago.
That's all it took.
Don't play these games anymore.
Just move on.
Always have 5 grand in the bank when changing jobs.
Just for crap like this.
Never trust anybody who owns a truck.
Most of them only survive by lying and stealing
From their own drivers.Gearjammin' Penguin, BennysPennys and BigHossVolvo Thank this. -
