With the exception of the extra 3 gals oil,I don't see what the problem is. They told you $75 an hr and you agreed to it. The mark up on the oil is industry standard. Almost every shop marks up every part they use.You just learned a valuable lesson. Speedco,as much as I don't like them is a better option. Doing your own sevice is a better option. Filter wrenches run $15 and you need 2. Grease gun is $30. Rotella at Walmart $12. Filters less than $50(don't know what you engine is but my detroit filters are $30 for all 4 at Freightliner). Your first oil change will pay for all the tools and still be ahead.

Clayton, I think its more of principle in this case....Ya it is cheaper for me to do my own PMs too so I do it, but I have occasionally had to outsource it. I guess it would be different if the guy did not lie about how much oil he put in the engine and just charged him the 550. So yes it should be a lesson learned, but however I understand why he is so upset about it. I would be too in this case when I KNOW my engine does not hold 14 gals of oil.

Keep on at it neighbor, I am glad you are putting the word out there to warn other drivers.
